Advanced Carbonate Field Seminar

36th ADVANCED CARBONATE FIELD SEMINAR

CARBONATE FACIES AND SEQUENCES ON CAICOS

PLATFORM, B.W.I. - DIRECT APPLICATIONS TO

HYDROCARBON EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT GEOLOGY

 MAY 3-11, 2020

Dear Colleague:

The 36th version of our public applied carbonate seminar to Caicos Platform, in the southeastern Bahamas, will run May 3-11, 2020.

The single person fee for this seminar is $5,500.00 (USD).  Discounted fee for two or more employees from the same company is $4900.00 USD.  See the attached brochure.

The registration deadline is April 3, 2020.

Our seminar is highly regarded because of the outstanding Holocene and Pleistocene geology available on this platform, and its direct applications to hydrocarbon exploration and development geology.   You are exposed to a series of alternative models of carbonate sedimentation and early diagenesis that are related to strong easterly trade winds.  These wind effects have led to newer carbonate play concepts in settings historically downplayed from a reservoir standpoint.  These winds do not usually blow strongly when we hold our seminar.  We utilize modern, fast boats in getting from one field locality to the next.  This saves time and makes examination of the Holocene environments more efficient than in many other Bahamian or Belize carbonate localities.  Pleistocene exposures of barrier reef and oolitic grainstone facies are superb (in fact, world-class) and facilitate your transition from modern environments to the rock record.  For each facies, we discuss applications to ancient reservoirs and plays, and bring in appropriate subsurface case studies.  In combination with our overflight, every participant develops a scale perspective that is critical to their mapping or play evaluation in the subsurface.

We have presented this seminar 73 times, which attests to the many unique geological attributes of Caicos Platform and their direct applications to oil and gas exploration and exploitation, and our experience in disseminating this information.

Please see the attached brochure for detailed information and a registration form.  If you have any questions, or need more information, please contact me at 713-667-9844, or visit my website web at http://dravisinterests.com/advancedcarb.htm for a picture show of the seminar or YouTube links.

This seminar is always available on a private basis.
